Brooklinen vs Parachute vs Snowe vs Boll & Branch – Which Are The Best Sheets 2019?

Sarah: Hey gang. It’s Sarah from Sleepopolis. Today, we’ll be comparing four sheet sets from some of the most popular bedding brands, Boll & Branch, Parachute, Snowe, and Brooklinen. Let’s take a look at each sheet set side-by-side so that you can decide which one is best for you. Sarah: First up, we’ve got the Classic Core Sheet Set from Brooklinen, just what I’ve got on the mattress right now. These sheets are made from 100 percent long-staple cotton, feature a percale weave, and a 270 thread count. Basically, they’re going to offer this really soft feel, super light, airy, and breathable, but also this crisp hotel bed feel. When I say crisp, I mean super crisp. Percale sheets already have a tendency to be more crisp than sateen sheets for example, but these are maybe the crispest percale sheets I’ve ever tested.

Like I said, they’re also light, airy, and breathable, so if you’re a sleeper who needs help staying cool during the night, or if you’re prone to night sweats, these are going to help keep you cool. Also, if you love a crisp set of sheets, these might be right up your alley. They also come in this very charming tote bag, which in my opinion is a bonus. Another bonus, in my opinion, is that the fitted sheet is labeled. You can breeze past that fitted sheet shuffling. You’ve got the short side labeled short, long side labeled long. I like little touches like that. Of all the sheet sets we’re looking at here, these are the least expensive, but certainly not sacrificing any quality. The price ranges from about 109 to 140 depending on which size you get, a great value. On to Boll & Branch. Right now on the mattress, I’ve got the brand’s most popular sheet set which is the Solid Hemmed Sheet Set. These sheets are made from 100 percent long-staple organic cotton, feature a 300 thread count, and a sateen weave. As compared to the percale-woven sheets we just saw from Brooklinen, the sateen weave is going to offer a feel that’s much less crisp and much more silky.

Additionally, these, like I said, are certified organic, and they’re also a product of Fair Trade manufacturing. That means that the farming partners of Boll & Branch must be paid a living wage. For you eco-friendly sleepers out there, if ethically sourced sheets is a big factor for you, you might be particularly compatible with these. They do offer a super smooth hand feel, like I said, very soft. They are a little bit steeper in price as compared to the Brooklinen sheets. They range from about 200 to 295. Again, they’re organic, they’re ethically sourced, they feel very durable, so they might just be worth the investment. Next up we’ve got the sateen set and the percale set from Snowe.

I’ve got the percale set on the bed right now, which is why the garment bag that it comes in looks a little thinner than the other one. Both sets are made from 100 percent long-staple Egyptian cotton, which is leaving them both feeling super soft and also very durable. The feel is going to differ depending on the weave. The sateen set is going to bring this silky smooth like we just saw with Boll & Branch. You saw the difference between percale and sateen. The sateen is going to offer a silkier smooth feel, lie a little bit heavier on the body, be a little bit thicker in weight. Then you’ve got the percale set which is very crisp, again, offering this crisp hotel bed feel, and also be more airy and breathable, helping you to keep a little bit cooler. The reason that these are a little bit different from some other sheet sets from some other brands I’ve tested is that while they do differ in feel, they really don’t differ in appearance.

That’s because Snowe, they say it’s a matter of personal preference, prefer their sheet sets to all be matte in appearance. Again, with the sateen set, you’re not going to get that luminous sheen that often comes with a sateen weave. Again, both very soft, both very durable. I would recommend the percale more to sleepers who need help staying cool and prefer that crisp feel. I’d recommend the sateen to those who maybe prefer their sheets to be a little bit heavier in weight, lie a little bit heavier on the body, but they both are very soft and very durable. Price ranges quite a bit from about 188 to 228. It really depends on the size you get and which sheet set you’re getting. Last but certainly not least are these sheet sets from Parachute. I’ve got the sateen set and the percale set. Similar to the percale and sateen sets we just saw from Snowe, these are made from 100 percent long-staple Egyptian cotton. Again, they’re going to be soft and have a very durable quality. Unlike the sheets that we just saw from Snowe, these are not designed to be similar in appearance.

Like I said, with Snowe, they’re both designed to have this matte appearance, not the case with Parachute. We’ve got the sateen set which offers this very pretty, super lustrous sheen. It’s got a really pronounced luminous sheen. Then you’ve got the percale set which is going to be more matte in appearance, which is also contributing to a lighter color. As far as the feel goes, they’re both very true to their percale and sateen personalities. The sateen is giving me this silky, buttery, smooth feel. It’s going to lie a little bit heavier on the body, offering this body-conforming drape. Then you’ve got the percale which is going to be lighter, airy, more breathable, and do a good job helping to keep you cool throughout the night. I will definitely recommend the percale set to folks who need a little bit more help keeping cool.

The sateen is probably going to be better suited for the cooler months when you need a little help keeping warm. As far as price range goes, pretty similar to Brooklinen, it’s about 109 to 170, depending on which size you get. Again, a great value. We’ve seen what they’re all made of, but let’s just recap all of these sheet sets highlights so you can get a better idea about which one is best for you. As far as the Brooklinen Classic Core Sheet Set, definitely recommending these sheets to sleepers who sleep hot. Of all the sheet sets, they’re definitely going to be the lightest, the coolest, and the most breathable. Additionally, if you love a crisp set of sheets, those are probably going to be right up your alley. Boll & Branch, if ethically sourced sheets is an important factor for you, those are definitely the ones that I’m going to recommend.

Also, if you like a sateen sheet set with more of a subtle luster but still that silky smooth feel, they’re going to be a great pick. As far as Snowe goes, I’m going to say the percale is going to be better for sleepers who run hot. The sateen is going to be better for folks who prefer that subtle luster, but really silky smooth feel. Because they’re made of Egyptian cotton, if, Egyptian cotton, you prefer that specific type of cotton, they’re going to offer that Egyptian cotton quality of durability. The Parachute sheets which admittedly are my personal favorite, they are my personal favorite, because the sateen woven sheet set from Parachute offers such a lustrous sheen. I’m definitely recommending the sateen woven set from Parachute for you sleepers who really prefer that very shiny, luminous sheen. The percale set from Parachute, it’s going to appeal more to sleepers who prefer that matte appearance and sleepers who run hot and need a little bit of help having a breathable sheet set cool them down. Sarah: That wraps up this review. For every last detail on all of these sheet sets, be sure to check out my full written review which is linked below.

Hotel Comfort Bamboo Sheets Review – Is Bamboo the Material for You?

Sarah: Hey guys, it’s Sarah from Sleepopolis. Today I’ll be reviewing the Luxury Bamboo Sheet set from Hotel Comfort. I’m going to tell you a little bit about what I like, what I don’t like, and for whom these will be especially beneficial. Let’s get started. Sarah: Now that we got the sheets on the bed, let’s talk about what they’re made of. These sheets are made from 100 percent natural bamboo fibers, which have a reputation of making very, very soft material. There are several types of bamboo. This happens to be bamboo viscose, which is regarded as one of the softest types of bamboo.

Many sleepers have compared the feel to silk or cashmere, for example. Each set contains one top sheet, one fitted sheet, and two pillow cases. This set that I’m testing is a queen size set, but if you do order a king size set, it comes with king size pillow cases. You’ll notice on most bamboo bedding products, there’s no thread count indicated. The general rule of thumb is, 1,000 thread count of cotton is equivalent to 250 thread count of bamboo.

Bamboo is definitely the softer material. Now that we know what these sheets are made of, let’s see how they feel, and how well they stay on the mattress. Sarah: As promised, the feel of these sheets is incredibly soft. Really just — silky, light, airy, breathable material. I can feel how it drapes over my body. I can’t stop rubbing the material. I just think it feels so soothing and silky on my skin.

The pillow cases are pretty large. Like I said, this is a queen set that I’m testing. You would, of course, get king size pillow cases with a king size set. These are accommodating a pretty large pillow right now, and they’ve still got a little bit of room to spare. The opening has this nice flap of fabric, so that you don’t actually see inside of the pillow case, a nice aesthetic value there. A common complaint that sleepers have about sheets is that the fitted sheet becomes untucked throughout the night. Maybe they toss and turn, and wake to find that the sheet has become untucked. I can tell you after rolling around quite a bit in these sheets, that has not happened. All four corners are still snugly tucked under the mattress.

Overall, these sheets have a great feel. Like I said, the most important thing to me is how they feel on my body, and to me these are incredibly soothing, comfortable, soft sheets. For folks who are looking for something silky, light, and breathable, these are a great option. The prices of these sheets range from 249 to 450, but if a hypoallergenic sheet set will improve your quality of life, it might be worth it. There are a lot of things to like about this sheet set. To name a few, the natural properties of bamboo are to be sweat wicking and cooling, so if you heat up during the night, these will be beneficial for you. Another great thing about bamboo is it’s naturally hypoallergenic, so if you have allergies, sensitive skin, these are especially beneficial for you. Something great about Hotel Comfort is they let you try these sheets for 100 days before you have to make any decisions.

That’s a long time for even the most indecisive sleeper. My favorite thing about these sheets is just how incredibly soft they are. They feel amazing on my skin, and at the end of the day, that’s the most important factor for me. There are a few cons to this sheet set. Firstly, the color I received does not exactly match the color represented on the website. It’s not a huge deal, but if you’re picking something other than white, it’s something to bear in mind for sure. Another thing about these sheets is they wrinkle and crease easily. Unfortunately, you cannot iron them, or it would ruin the material. If you want to get the wrinkles out without having to go through the entire wash process, just throw them in the dryer on a low setting, and shake the wrinkles out. One other thing about these sheets is while they’re lovely, light, and breathable, they’re very light, and really not intended to keep you warm.

While they might be perfect for summer time, I would definitely switch to something heavier when the winter rolls around. Well, that’s it for now. Well, that’s all for this video review. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you next time. .

Eli and Elm Sheets Review – Should You Buy Bamboo or Cotton Bedding?

Sarah Riccio: Hey, guys. It’s Sarah from Sleepopolis. Let me guess. You’re interested in Eli & Elm sheets. Well, you’ve come to the right place because today, we’re going to dive into all three bedding collections that Eli & Elm has to offer. Stay tuned. We’re looking at the Cool Sheet Set from Eli & Elm’s Whitney Collection, the Bamboo Sheet Set from the Wharf Collection, and the Organic Cotton Sheet Set from the Ferry Collection. I want to start with the Cool Sheet Set because, frankly, I’m a very hot sleeper. I really can’t resist a cooling set of sheets. Now, when I first unboxed this sheet set, my first reaction was, “Wow, they’re not kidding. These sheets are very cool to the touch.” More than just breathable, they felt like they had been refrigerated.

We’ll get into a little bit more about why they feel so cool in a second, but let me tell you, rubbing my hands all over the material, they feel icy crisp to the touch. Let’s get into more details about why they feel so cool and find out if they actually stay that cool after they’ve been washed. The Cool Sheet Set is sateen woven into a 400 thread count and made from a blend of long staple cotton, lyocell, and phase change material. The cotton is giving me this soft, breathable feel that many of us have become familiar with. The fact that it’s long-staple cotton is adding some strong durability to the fabric as well. What about those other two ingredients? Lyocell is a cellulosic fiber made from dissolving wood pulp that usually goes by its name brand Tencel.

It’s frequently featured in the world of bedding also in clothing. It’s known for being super soft, resistant to wrinkles, and naturally moisture-wicking. That ability to wick moisture is going to help the sheet set stay cool and help you stay fresh and dry throughout the night. Meanwhile, the phase change material is what takes the cooling properties of the sheet set to the next level. I do dive into deeper detail about what exactly goes into the process of making phase change material. Basically, phase change material also known as PCM is woven into the fabric. It’s what’s giving it that icy crisp, notably cool-to-the-touch feel. Because it’s woven into the fabric, it’s meant to stay cool no matter how many times you wash it. That said, I have put the sheet set through the wash and dry cycle. While it’s not as icy cool as when I first unboxed it, I’m pretty impressed at how cool it still is. Again, it’s worth noting that both these sateen sheen that comes with the sheet set and the cooling properties of the PCM are going to diminish a little bit over time and after you run them through the wash.

Each sheet set comes with one top sheet, two pillowcases, and one fitted sheet capable of accommodating mattresses up to 15 inches deep. There’s a lot that I’m loving about these sheets. I think that sleepers who run hot are going to be particularly compatible with them. Thanks to the phase change material, they do feel so cool and soothing against my skin. Like I said, I’m a year-round hot sleeper. I could definitely see myself getting year-round use with this sheet set. Another thing that I think is unique about the sheet set is its blending of percale and sateen traits. What I mean by that is percale sheets are known for being crisp and cool and matte in appearance, whereas sateen sheets are known for being very silky and lustrous. The sheets has a little of all of that going on because they are sateen-woven. You are getting this very pretty light luster and a silky smooth feel, but the phase change material is giving it a crisp feel as well. Like I said, the feel is unique.

I don’t think I’ve felt a sheet set that feels exactly like this one before. The other thing is the Tencel is working to keep you fresh and dry. You got the PCM that’s working to keep you cool. The moisture-wicking ability of the Tencel is keeping you fresh and dry, so definitely recommending this to sleepers who run hot. All that said, there are a few things to consider before you commit to buying the sheet set. First of all, while it does feel very cool to the touch, it’s worth noting that that cool crispness does diminish a little bit after you wash it. Same thing with that lustrous sateen sheen. Again, this is a common thing in my experience particularly with sateen sheets. That luster does diminish a little bit after you wash them. It’s worth noting that these sheets are not going to stay as icy cold as they did when you first unbox them forever. Another thing about this sheet set is it certainly not the least expensive sheets that are on the block, ranging from about $279 to $300 depending on the size set that you get.

The fact of the matter is these sheets are not going to be in everyone’s budget. These are a little out of your price range. That’s something to consider. Lastly, this sheet set does only come in white. If you’re looking for a wide range of playful color options, this might not be the right one for you. Sarah: Next up is the Organic Cotton Sheet Set. Right away, even before I took it out of the packaging, I could tell that this sheet set is going to offer the most classically cotton feel.

It’s very super soft and breathable and this cozy, familiar cotton feeling. It’s not got that crisp cotton feel. It’s more smooth. As a sateen lover, I’m pretty fond of that. Another thing I’m noticing is that while it is breathable, it does feel almost like a little bit warm and cozy. I’m almost getting the sense that while I know these are going to be less cool because they don’t have phase change material like we just saw in the Cool Sheet Set, almost getting the sense that these might lie a little bit heavier on the body. Let’s take a closer look at what these sheets feel like and what exactly they’re made of. As you might have guessed these sheets are made from 100 percent organic cotton. The cotton used in this sheet set is long staple cotton. That’s the way to go because the longer the cotton fibers, also known as cotton staples, the more durable the sheet set is going to be.

In addition to better durability, you’re getting better color retention, better resistance to pilling. Again, it’s a best-case scenario. The longer the fiber, the better the sheet set. These sheets feature a sateen weave, which is giving it more of a silky smooth hand feel as opposed to a crisp cotton hand feel. Folks who are less into that starkly crisp feel and more into that smooth hand feel might be particularly compatible with this. One thing that a sateen weave does lend itself to is more vulnerability to wrinkles. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that’s the case. Now, I have already run these sheets through the wash and dry cycle.

In my experience, it is best to pull it out of the dry cycle as soon as it’s done so that you’re spreading these sheets out over the mattress when they’re still warm and wrinkle-free. That will serve to keep some of the wrinkles at bay. However, you can, if you hate wrinkles, iron these sheets on a low setting. That will completely eliminate the wrinkles, but worth noting that these sheets are a little wrinkly. Each sheet set comes with one top sheet, two pillowcases, and one fitted sheet capable of fitting mattresses up to 15 inches deep. There’s a lot that I’m liking about this sheet set. First of all, not only is the cotton certified organic, but it’s also a product of Fair Trade manufacturing, which basically means that the folks who harvest those cotton must be paid a living wage. If both ethically sourced and eco-friendly sheets is an important factor for you, you might want to consider these. Another thing is the long staples, like I said, are giving the cotton some great durability, but the sateen weave is really giving you this nice, silky smooth hand feel.

If you’re more into a smooth feel as opposed to a crisp one, this might be right up your alley. Another thing that the sateen weave gives is the pretty light luster. I will say that it diminishes a little bit over time, especially the more you wash it. The more you wash it, it also gets softer. If you’re into that silky smooth feel along with that light luster, you might want to give this a try. All that said, there are a few things to consider about the sheet set before you commit to buying it.

The sateen weave is giving it more of a silky smooth feel and less of a crisp feel. If you’re into that like crisp cotton hotel bed feel, then these might not be for you. They’re not very crisp. Like I said, very smooth. Another thing is as I suspected, they do lie heavier on the body. They’re a little bit less breathable. That’s generally the case with sateen-woven sheets. Sateen-woven sheets tend to be less breathable than percale sheets.

They are going to keep you a little more warm and cozy and a little less cool. Sarah: Last but not least is my personal favorite, the Bamboo Sheet Set from The Wharf Collection. You can probably already guessed that the sheet set is made from bamboo. When I first unboxed it, first thing I think is, “Oh, this is why I love bamboo-based bedding.” It’s silky. It’s light. It’s lustrous. It feels so soft and soothing on your skin. Like I said, we know it’s made from bamboo, but let’s talk a little bit more about the specific advantages that come from bamboo-based bedding. These sheets are made from 100 percent viscose from bamboo and woven into a light and breathable 300 thread count. Bamboo-based bedding does come with some really unique wonderful advantages. First of all, it’s got this natural luster, this silky feel. Also, bamboo-based bedding is notorious for its strong durability, antimicrobial properties. Eco-friendly sleepers might like to know that bamboo is a sustainably sourced material.

There’s a little bit of that sleep green factor at play there. Also, bamboo bedding is naturally moisture-wicking. In addition to this light, breezy feel, you’re also getting this moisture-wicking property that’s going to help stave off those night sweats. Comparatively, the Cool Sheet Set does have that PCM so it feels cooler to the touch, but these are also going to be a great pick for hot sleepers because they’re light, breathable, breezy, and they feel so silky and cool on your skin. This sheet set, like the others, does come with one top sheet, two pillowcases, and one fitted sheet capable of accommodating mattresses up to 15 inches deep.

There’s a lot that I’m loving. This is my personal favorite sheet set. Let’s talk about who’s going to be most compatible. First of all, this is a great eco-friendly bedding option. Bamboo is a sustainably sourced material. Bamboo bedding is also naturally hypoallergenic. If you’re looking to sleep green, if you’ve got sensitive skin, this is not a bad idea. Another thing is this bedding offers this very silky feel, this really beautiful luster that drapes over your body and the mattress in this shape-silhouetting way that my opinion improves the aesthetic of the whole bedroom. Another thing is bamboo-based bedding, because it does come with these wonderful unique-to-bamboo advantages, often comes with a higher price tag. In my opinion, these sheets are a great value ranging from about $120 to $150.

They’re not the least expensive bamboo-based betting that I’ve ever tested, but they’re certainly not the most expensive. They’re about middle of the road but, in my opinion, a great value for what you’re getting. Not to mention, you do have 45 days to test this bedding before you commit. A few things to consider about these sheets before you commit to buying them. First of all, that silky feel is also contributing to a little bit of a slippery feel. Folks who like that crisp feel, these might not necessarily be up your alley. Also, the pillowcases do a little bit of slipping and sliding on the sheets because they are very silky. It’s something to keep in mind.

Another thing is bamboo bedding does have a reputation for being very wrinkly. I will say that when I first unboxed these sheets, they were riddled with wrinkles, but I’m pleased to say that after I washed and dried them, not only do they feel softer, but the wrinkles shook out nicely. Now, if you really hate wrinkles, you can iron these on a low setting. If you want to know more about the specific care instructions for this bedding, I do dive into all that detail in my full written review, which is linked below. Sarah: Well, that’s it for me, but for every last detail in all three of these sheet sets, be sure to check out my full written review, which is linked below. Remember, if you have any questions or comments, you want a personal recommendation, don’t hesitate to give me a shout in the comments section below, and I’d be happy to help. Saatva Dreams Lofton Sheets Review – Is Organic Cotton Bedding Worth It?

Sarah: Hey, guys. It’s Sarah from Sleepopolis, and if you’ve been wondering what the Lofton Organic Sheet Set by Saatva Dreams is all about, I’m here to answer your questions. Stay tuned, because I’m going to show you what Saatva sheets feel like, what they’re made of, and which sleepers might love them the most. Sarah: I have to admit that the Saatva Lofton Organic Sheet Set is the sheet set that I have on my bed at home right now, but I have them in grey. When I first unboxed them, my first impressions were that they were lightly lustrous, silky soft, and I could tell they were going to do a good job of keeping hot sleepers cool. I’m a hot sleeper, so that’s definitely a bonus. Not to mention, as the name suggests, they are organic, and I’m always interested to see how organic bedding compares to bedding that’s not organic. I’m sure you’re interested, too.

So, let’s take a closer examination of these sheets. These sheets are woven from 100 percent long-staple organic cotton into a 300-thread count, and they feature a sateen weave. What all this means is the long-staple cotton is making these sheets feel really soft and really durable. Something that’s important to know is that the longer the fiber, also known as staple, the more durable and soft the cotton sheets are going to be.

The sateen weave is giving these sheets a light luster and a feel that’s more silky as opposed to crisp. Again, it’s worth noting that percale sheets are going to be more crisp and matte in appearance, and sateen sheets like these are going to be a little more shiny and more silky in feel. The folks at Saatva these sheets are organic all the way. So not only are these sheets 100 percent certified organic, but the farmers who harvest this cotton, also must be paid a living wage. If eco-friendly, ethically sourced bedding is a priority for you, you might be particularly compatible with Saatva’s sheets. Now, each sheet set comes with one top sheet, one fitted sheet capable of accommodating mattresses up to 15 inches deep. I am actually on the Saatva mattress right now and as you can see, it fits it like a glove, almost like they were made for each other, and two pillow cases.

This is the Saatva pillow, so you can get a good look at what that fit looks like. It doesn’t have those envelope closures, so there is this opening on the side. There’s a little bit of pillow spillage. It’s not my preference. I do like those envelope closures, but as you can see, this is the standard/queen size here and it’s a pretty nice fit. Another thing worth noting is that the sheet set has already been through the wash and dry cycle, which, by the way, if you want to know more about the specific care instructions I do dive into all that detail in my full written review, which is linked below.

It’s worth noting that when sateen woven sheets do get put through the wash and dry cycle, do lose a little bit of that luster. That sateen sheen will diminish a little bit, which has happened with these sheets. They’re still lightly lustrous, but not as lustrous as when they first came out of the packaging. However, they do feel softer after being washed and dried.

So, not at all in like a light worn-in way, more like a garment wash-soft kind of feel. I’m really loving that. Without further ado, let’s find out who is going to be most compatible with these sheets. There’s a lot to love about this sheet set. First of all, if you’re into more of a silky-smooth feel as opposed to that crisp feel that you get from cotton percale, this might be the sheet set for you. Between the very durable long staple cotton and the really silky sateen weave, you’re really just getting this very smooth hand-feel that sateen lovers are probably going to particularly enjoy. Speaking of a sateen weave, sateen woven sheets do have a reputation for laying heavier on the body, being less breathable and therefore less beneficial for hot sleepers. Luckily, that is not the case with this sheet set. In fact, this sheet set might be the most light and breathable sateen sheet set I have ever tested.

If you prefer sateen, but you also need help keeping cool at night, would definitely give these a try. Lastly, while these are not the most lustrous sateen sheets I’ve ever tested, they still do offer this subtle sheen. If you’re really not into sheets that are very shiny and something a little more lightly lustrous, these might be right up your alley. There are some things about this sheet set that you might want to consider before you commit. First of all, like I said, if you’re into that crisp, cool hand-feel, just remember that these sheets are not at all crisp. They’re very smooth and silky, so if you’re a percale lover, if you love that crisp hotel bed-feel, you might want to look elsewhere. Another thing is, these sheets, like I said, are light and breathable and they’re going to do a great job of keeping you cool.

That said, they’re not going to do a great job of keeping you warm. If you’re looking for something more warm and cozy, again, you might want to try these first. Speaking of trying them first, you do have 45 days to try these sheets, see how they fit into your lifestyle. If you don’t love them, you can send them back for a refund. That said, the price is not exactly in everyone’s budget, ranging from about $125 to $215. The fact of the matter is, these might be out of some sleepers’ price range. Sarah: That wraps up this review. For every last detail on this sheet set, be sure to check out my full written review, which is linked below. By the way, this particular sheet set is featured in my roundup of the best sheets of 2019, so I definitely recommend you check that out if you’re on the hunt for a wide range of bedding options. All you got to do is Google “Sleepopolis best sheets of 2019” and it’ll pop right up.

MagicLinen Bedding Review – Should You Switch From Cotton Sheets?

Sarah Riccio: Hey guys, it’s Sarah from Sleepopolis. Today we’ll be taking a look at the Woodrose Linen Sheet Set from MagicLinen. Now, some of you might already know that linen has a very distinct feel and a reputation for being super durable, breathable, and eco-friendly. In this review we’re going to take a close examination of these sheets so we can determine what sets them apart, and for whom they might be most beneficial. Of course, if at the end of this video you’re not so sure this set is the right one for you, just google “Sleepopolis Best Sheets,” and we’ll help you find the one that is. All right, let’s get started. Sarah: These sheets are made from 100 percent linen, which is derived from natural flax fibers, so eco-friendly, sustainably-sourced material. That’s a perk for me. This particular set is made in Lithuania. Unlike some linen sheets, these are not blended with cotton or any other textile byproduct.

They have that distinct feel that only comes from pure, 100 percent linen. Linen fibers are a bit thicker than say cotton, for example, and they produce a stiffer yarn. They are going to have this coarse texture. Not coarse in a way that’s it’s rough, it’s still super soft. It does have a distinct feel, a gently massaging texture to it that is with 100 percent linen sheets.

This particular set is in Woodrose, which is, you can see, as the company calls it, a dusty pink color. I think it’s really pretty, but they do have other styles and colors available. What are you getting with this set? You get a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillowcases. Something interesting about the fitted sheet is you can order it in two different mattress depth options. You can order it, either the fitted sheet is able to accommodate mattresses up to 10 inches, or up to 18 inches. 18 inches are pretty deep pockets so that’s pretty cool.

On this bed I’ve got the 10-inch fitted sheet. It’s got a really, as you can see, very tight, closely adhering to the mattress, snug fit, which I really like. While this does have a little bit of a coarser texture, linen is also known for being super breathable. It’s very light and airy. You can see how it drapes. Also, this particular set is stone washed. I go into a little bit deeper detail as far as what the stone washing process is all about in my full written review, which you can find on sleepopolis.com. Basically stone washing is going to make them extra soft. While you’re getting all the benefits of linen, and you’re still getting that distinct coarser texture of linen, it is a little bit softer than I was expecting. I really like that. First impression of these sheets, I’m loving the lived-in look that is so characteristic of linen. I’m loving the pillowcases also, which have this pretty sizeable flap of fabric here, so you can’t see inside of the pillowcase. I have to say, I’m really into the hand feel, but I’m eager to see what they feel like.

Let’s get in and check it out. The first thing I want to make a note of before I even get into the feel of these sheets is the pillowcase. When I first unpackaged everything, the pillowcases looked almost a little small. I’m used to seeing these big enormous pieces of fabric so it can accommodate any size pillow. These are a little small. At first I was worried about that, but as you can see, it allows for a very snug fit around your pillow so that your pillow’s compactly in the pillow case.

Not to mention, it’s got this pretty big flap of fabric, so that you can’t see it. It’s still got that nice aesthetic look. I wasn’t sure how I was going to love these sheets, because linen does have a coarser texture to it, but the stone washing involved in making these sheets has them feeling so super soft. I can’t stop rubbing my hands all over the fabric. Of course, as we know, linen is super breathable, although it is a thicker fiber than cotton, for example. It’s still got this lightweight, drapes nicely over your body, and is really breathable, so it’s going to help keep you cool. But, one of the magic things about linen is, it’s thermoregulating. Basically, that’s a fancy word that means it’s going to help keep you cool in the summertime, it’s going to help keep you warm in the cooler months.

Works with your body’s temperature, and in my opinion is a big perk. I am pretty much a year-round hot sleeper, so again, I am loving how light, cool, and breathable these are feeling. As far as the fitted sheet goes, I’ve got the 10-inch depth here. I think it’s doing a really good job of staying tucked. Also, because there wasn’t a lot of excess fabric, it’s got a pretty snug fit. There’s no bunching, no gapping. It fits this mattress like a glove, and it is a 10-inch-deep mattress, so I’m liking that. As I roll around from side to side, the fitted sheet is not becoming untucked, which is one of my main criteria when it comes to sheets. The other thing that I pay attention to is how it feels on my body.

I know that they are natural, 100 percent linen, so I know they are going to be hypoallergenic. They’re easy on my sensitive skin. They’re super soft. I love how when you air them out a little bit, they get this nice drape. The last thing that I love about these sheets is the lived-in aesthetic that is characteristic of linen. It’s got this wrinkly, beach-house feel to it, which is really nice. When it comes to linen sheets, you have to play around because they’re definitely not all made equal. Between the stone washing and the pretty Woodrose color of these, I’ve got to say, I’m really loving these sheets. There’s a lot to like about these sheets, but just to name a few, they’re made from 100 percent pure linen, so they’re going to be naturally hypoallergenic and sustainably sourced. They’re also highly breathable and moisture wicking, so they’re going to be less likely to accumulate germs. If you’re looking for sheets that are easy on both your skin and the environment, you should give these a try.

Something I’m loving about these sheets is the stone-washed softness that’s going on. I have to be honest, I don’t always love the feel of linen sheets because they do have a coarser texture than cotton, for example. Because of the stone-washed nature of these sheets, they’re actually softer than I was expecting. They’ve still got that distinct feel of linen, plus all the benefits that come with linen, but they might be a little bit softer than you’d expect. Something really awesome about the company MagicLinen is that they offer customized bedding. In addition to being able to choose between mattress depth options — the fitted sheet comes in two different depth options — you also have the option to customize almost every sheet set that they have to offer.

You can customize the sheets according to your preferred dimensions. That adds a level of personal care that I really like. There are a few things about these sheets that not everyone is going to love. A lot comes down to personal preference, but not everyone is going to be into the casually creased, lived-in look of these sheets. It’s definitely part of the personality of linen. Personally I think it adds a relaxed rustic aesthetic that I find to be quite charming, but again, different strokes for different folks, so something to be aware of. Secondly, it’s worth remembering that while these sheets are very soft, they do not feel like cotton.

Really soft, but they offer a textured softness that’s less silky and smooth, like you might be familiar with with cotton, and more coarse and breathable. If you’re used to the cozy cotton sheets, it’s definitely something to keep in mind. Lastly, there is no trial period offered with these sheets. You have to be pretty sure these are the ones you want before you commit to buying them. Oftentimes, companies will offer a trial period so you can get the sense of the bedding before you commit.

It’s not the case with these sheets. However, I’m pleased to report that MagicLinen has said that they are considering offering a trial period in the future. That wraps up this review, but for every last detail on these sheets, be sure to check out my full written review that you can find by Googling “Sleepopolis MagicLinen sheets.” If you’re not sure these sheets would even be covering the right mattress, just Google “Sleepopolis best mattress,” and we’ll help you find the right one.

Hotel Comfort Bamboo Covered Memory Foam Pillow Review

Sarah: Hey everybody, it’s Sarah from Sleepopolis. Today, I’ll be reviewing the luxury bamboo pillow from Hotel Comfort. This is a lofty, all position pillow designed to keep sleepers of all styles comfortably supported all night long. Let’s see what it’s made of. Sarah: The cover fabric of this pillow is made from a blend of bamboo and polyester, both of which are known for being breathable and moisture wicking. A zipper spans one side of the pillow so that you can easily remove the cover when it’s time to be washed. This pillow is filled with 100 percent shredded memory foam, which is designed to be moldable and conform to the sleeper’s head and neck. This pillow has a lofty build and ranks a medium on the firmness scale, offering sleepers a nice balance between plush and supportive. This combination of materials was intended to enhance the breathability of this pillow, as well as help it maintain its shape over time. This way, sleepers can enjoy a cool comfortable sleep all night long. Now, that we know what this pillow’s made of, I’m sure you’re just as eager as I am to see how it performs.

Let’s get in there and see what it feels like. All right, I’ll be honest. I didn’t want to get out of that position. Started in the supine position and it took me no time to get comfortable. The moldable nature of shredded memory foam immediately conformed to my head and neck keeping everything in neutral alignment, and leaving me feeling supported on all sides. Also, pressing into the fabric, I could feel the air flowing through. I could tell that it’s not trapping my body heat. Let’s try it on my side. Again, you could probably notice it just didn’t take me any time to get comfortable. Sometimes there’s a little bit of rolling and shuffling before you can find your comfort zone, but the medium firmness and lofty build of this pillow is, in my opinion, pretty great for side sleeping.

I like a little bit more support when I’m on my side, just to make sure that everything, my head, my neck, my spine are all going to be in alignment. Let’s see how it is on my stomach. While it does offer a nice sink into the pillow, I’m still finding the loft to be a little too high for stomach sleeping for me. This pillow’s not adjustable. You can’t reach in and take out any of the stuffing.

You might, if you’re a stomach sleeper, want to try this first just to make sure it’s not going to elevate your head and put your neck out of alignment. Let’s see how it is as an in-between-the-leg pillow. Again, good medium support. It’s got a nice lofty build. I don’t feel like my leg is sinking to the bottom. I feel very supported and really comforted by this particular style. Also, it’s giving my lower back a little bit of pressure relief, which I love. Let’s see how it is as an under the arm hugger. Same thing, very soft, very huggable.

Loving it for this style, too. Overall, as a back and side sleeper, this is my kind of pillow. Definitely, finding it to be offering great pressure relief for under the arm and between the leg. As I said, stomach sleepers might want to proceed with a little bit of caution, but in my opinion, this is one very comfortable pillow. There are a lot of perks to this pillow. Firstly, both the cover fabric and the fill were designed to be breathable and moisture wicking. This way, this pillow is going to be less likely to trap your body’s heat, than solid memory foam. Something cool about Hotel Comfort is they offer a trial period of 100 nights. If you’re not sure this pillow’s right for you, you have plenty of time to test it out. One of my favorite things about this pillow is how soft and cool the cover fabric feels. You could, of course, dress it with a pillow case if you want, but in my opinion, you really don’t need to. Not to mention, it’s hypoallergenic, so I’m not afraid to nuzzle my face right into it.

There are a few things about this pillow that might not be compatible with everybody. Firstly, it’s got a nice lofty build, but it’s not adjustable. Stomach sleepers, who should be using a softer, flatter pillow should probably try this one out just to make sure it’s not going to elevate your neck in an uncomfortable way. While the cover fabric of this pillow is machine washable, the pillow itself is not. It must be spot cleaned with a very mild detergent, and then be left to air-dry in order to maintain the integrity of the material. One other small thing to know is that the zipper is not completely hidden. Not a huge deal, but sleepers with long snagable hair, or those who frequently flip their pillow in the middle of the night, it’s something to be mindful of.

Purple Sheets Review – Are Bamboo Sheets Soft and Stretchy Enough?

Sarah: Hey, guys. It’s Sarah from Sleepopolis. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the Purple bed sheet. As you can see I haven’t even unboxed them yet. I’m just as excited as you are to see what’s inside. Now, some of you might already be familiar with Purple’s mattresses or the Purple pillow. If you want to check out our reviews of those Purple products, just Google Sleepopolis Purple and it’ll be the first things that pop up.

For this review, we’ll be taking a close examination of Purple’s bed sheets. I’m going to show you what I like about them, what I’m not crazy about, and for whom I think these sheets might be particularly beneficial. Of course, there is a wide world of bedding out there. If after this video you’re not so sure that this sheet set is the right one for you, just Google Sleepopolis Best Sheets and we’ll help you find the one that is. All right, let’s get started. Sarah: OK, this I’m fully keeping for a hairband. I officially got the sheets out of the box and onto the mattress. Right away, I’m thinking there’s no way this is bamboo-based bedding because every set of bamboo sheets I’ve ever tested have been very wrinkly.

As you can see, these are completely wrinkle-free. They have this smooth look. I’m just impressed that they are, in fact, made from a blend of viscose from bamboo and spandex. Now, the folks at Purple say that bamboo-based fabric makes for the best bed sheets. While that is, of course, a subjective opinion, the fabric derived from bamboo does have a reputation for being naturally breathable, moisture-wicking, super soft. If you want to know more about the perks of bamboo-based bedding, I do go into deeper detail in my full written review, which is linked below. Now, as you can see, I’ve got it in the sand color. That’s what it’s called, sand. However, Purple does offer their sheet sets in a variety of colors, including their signature purple color, which from what I’ve seen is very purple.

What are you getting with each Purple sheet set? You’re getting a top sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. Right now, I’m on the Purple 3 mattress. Of course, you don’t need to use a Purple mattress in order to enjoy Purple sheets. However, the folks at Purple do say that these sheets were designed with the Purple mattresses in mind. They’re stretchy quality and as you can see they are super stretchy. The stretchy quality is designed to complement the stretchy and rubbery nature of the mattresses so that the sheets are flexing with the mattress in this unique to Purple way. The fitted sheet, as you can see here, is capable of accommodating mattresses up to 16-inches deep. That’s pretty deep pockets. This particular mattress is about 12-inches deep. I just tucked the excess fabric tightly under the mattress so I can get that snug fit. Now, for the pillowcases, this is the Purple pillow if you couldn’t tell. It’s 10 pounds. I just wanted you Purple loyalists out there to get a look at what the Purple pillow looks like inside the Purple pillowcase.

As you can see, there’s plenty of room to spare. It more than accommodates this pillow. Something I don’t love is that the opening is on the side. There’s a little bit of this pillow spillage out of here. It’s a pet peeve of mine, but we’ll get into that later. Just so you can see what it looks like accommodating a standard size pillow, a little less room to spare here, a little less excess fabric hanging out.

My first impression is that they are super smooth to the touch. I’m also getting the sense that they’re very breathable, very light and airy, which is great for hot sleepers like myself who are trying to stave off those night sweats at night. Of course, the only way to get a sense for this bedding is to roll around in it.

Let’s check it out. Sarah: For every last detail on these sheets, be sure to check out my full written review that you can find by Googling Sleepopolis Purple Sheets. Buffy Comforter Review – Is This Cooling Comforter Worth The Hype?

Sarah: Hey, guys. It’s Sarah from Sleepopolis. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the Buffy Comforter. I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve seen the Internet buzzing quite a bit about the Buffy, particularly about how eco-friendly it is. Let’s jump right in and see what all the fuss is about, shall we? Sarah: Before we get into what this comforter is made of, I just want to remind you that if throughout the course of this video you have any questions, comments, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below and we’d be happy to help. The cover fabric of the Buffy is made from lyocell, which is a natural textile derived from dissolving wood pulp. In this case, wood pulp from eucalyptus trees. I don’t know if you guys are familiar with eucalyptus, but it’s got a reputation for antimicrobial properties, being great for anti-inflammatory purposes. The cover fabric of the Buffy was intended to offer this uniquely cool and soothing feel that really feels great against your skin. Also, I have to say, first impressions, it’s kind of a refreshing change of pace from cotton.

The eucalyptus is offering this very silky feel that almost feels silky, like bamboo, this really nice blend between the silkiness of bamboo and the crispness of cotton. I’m really loving that. Of course, there’s an eco-friendly factor at play here. Eucalyptus is a sustainably sourced material. Right away, I’m loving how fluffy it is. The eucalyptus really is just making this cover feel so silky and very uniquely soothing against my skin. Of course, the only way to really know how this performs is to roll around in it. Let’s check it out. Sarah: Now, as far as the comforter itself is concerned, the cover fabric feels very uniquely soothing. That’s definitely coming from the eucalyptus.

It feels just very cool to the touch. It also feels super silky. Then the down alternative inside is really super fluffy. It’s doing a good job staying evenly distributed within the comforter. However, I will say, this is just a matter of personal preference, but I do prefer my comforters to be a little bit more on the lofty side. I mean, so fluffy that you kind of get lost in it. The Buffy, it’s worth noting, is a lower lofted comforter. I wish that it were a little bit loftier.

However, I’m really loving how it feels against my skin which is, at the end of the day, the most important thing. I’m feeling how breathable it is. It might be one of the most breathable comforters I’ve ever tested, which is going to be particularly beneficial for hot sleepers like myself. I have to say, overall, I’m really loving it. As far as what’s inside the Buffy, that’s where, in my opinion, things get interesting. Inside here is a down alternative eco-fiber spun from recycled plastic bottles.

Of course, it doesn’t feel like plastic. It feels like a really fluffy down alternative. Obviously, this is a great example of sleeping green. This is a really eco-friendly comforter. It might be the most eco-friendly and ethically sourced sleep accessory that I’ve ever tested. The cover fabric, the internal fill, it’s all hypoallergenic, it’s all ethically sourced, very eco-friendly. For you eco-friendly sleepers out there who also happen to have sensitive skin or allergies, this might be a particularly good pick for you. Now, the Buffy Comforter also takes advantage of something called 37.5 technology. Basically, it’s a proprietary technology designed to employ active particles that are going to help keep you cool when it’s hot and keep you hot when it’s cold. If you want to learn more about the specifics of that technology, I do go into deeper detail in my full written review, which is linked below.

Sarah: Oh, sorry, I didn’t see you there. I was too busy enjoying my complimentary sleep mask that comes with every Buffy Comforter. Look, I have to say, this is one of my favorite parts about the whole Buffy Comforter. I’m loving the comforter, of course, but the fact that it comes with this sleep mask is a major bonus, in my opinion. Not only is it an adorable design, it’s very silky, it’s very cushy. It’s also filled with lavender, which is notorious for its calming aroma that just eases your transition into dreamland. In my opinion, that’s a major perk. There’s a lot that I’m loving about the Buffy Comforter. Just to name a few of my favorites, like I said, this is one of the most eco-friendly sleep accessories I’ve ever tested.

Between the sustainably sourced eucalyptus fiber and the recycled plastic bottles that make up the fill of this, this is a perfect example of what sleeping green means. Speaking of the eucalyptus, that’s another thing that I’m loving about the Buffy. It’s really offering this uniquely soothing, cool feel to the cover fabric that, as a hot sleeper, I’m particularly liking. Also, it’s hypoallergenic. It’s got great antimicrobial properties. If you have allergies or even just sensitive skin, this might be a particularly good pick for you. Lastly, something that’s particularly intriguing to me is the company’s trial period which, in my experience testing bedding, is unique to Buffy. Some of you might already be familiar with trial periods from bedding brands where you can try a product out, see how you like it, and if you don’t like it, send it on back for a refund.

With Buffy, you literally don’t get charged a single dime until the day after your trial period ends. You can enjoy this comforter for 30 days for free without spending a single penny. Then, of course, if during the trial period you decide that you don’t like it, you can send it on back. Buffy will handle all of the shipping costs. If you decide that you do like it after 30 days, then you’ll be charged.

Again, this trial period, in my opinion, is a really good deal. A couple of things about the Buffy Comforter that some folks might consider to be drawbacks. While Buffy does offer a very generous trial period, it’s certainly not the least expensive down alternative comforter on the market. A lot of folks go for down alternative because it is so much less expensive than real down, but with the Buffy Comforter ranging from about $120 to $190, depending on which size you chose, it might be a little bit more than you were looking to spend for a down alternative comforter. Another thing is about the wash care. While this is technically machine washable, the folks at Buffy say that it must be washed in a large industrial-size washing machine or you could damage the comforter. They actually do say on their website that they recommend that you dry clean this. Not everyone’s going to want to do that. If you’re looking for bedding or for a comforter that is really low-maintenance wash care, that’s something to keep in mind.

A personal preference that I mentioned earlier is that I do prefer my down alternative comforters to be very super lofty, super fluffy. While this is offering me some great fluff — it’s really feathery, it’s very soft — it is on the lower lofted side. Again, as a matter of personal preference, I did find that the low loft actually served to help keep me cool and maybe even made it a little more breathable. Again, something to keep in mind, this is a lower lofted comforter. Sarah: That’s it for me, guys. If you want every last detail on the Buffy Comforter, be sure to check out my full written review, which is linked below. I hope you found this video to be helpful. If you did, be sure to subscribe to our channel, give us a thumbs up, and follow us on social media. We’re always going to be putting out more content with one main thing in mind, “To get you the best sleep you can.” Like I said, if you need a personal recommendation, you’ve got some questions, please feel free to give us a shout in the comments section below and we’d be happy to help.
